So you’ve narrowed down the location of your wedding, time of year, and maybe even a vision of your dream wedding gown. Now what? The next big milestone on your bridal journey is actually materializing your vision with some luxurious material – and you know what that means…SHOPPING!

Well if you are in San Diego then you are also in luck! This area is practically made for weddings on a scenic level as well as in style. And even if you’re not getting married in San Diego, you can still browse the boutiques and buy your dress to take along with you to your destination. Here are a few of my absolute local favorites to get your shopping started:

The Dress Theory

Good For: Romantic, fashion-forward, modern, eclectic, or bohemian brides

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of The Dress Theory! Their amazing selection of dresses are both romantic and modern. This favorite has been around since 2012, originating in Seattle, WA, eventually blessing us with a San Diego location. Their gowns are unique, personal, and they walk that perfect balance between in style but not necessarily “trendy.” The owners take a lot of pride in seeking out designers that have a great story, in addition to great care, detail, and fairness in their process.

Grace Loves Lace

Good For: Effortlessly sophisticated, captivating, down-to-Earth, sexy, unique, or bohemian brides

Grace Loves Lace (or GRACE, as they call it for short) is another favorite of mine. The way they do bohemian is so distinctive and gorgeous. Plus they’ve got an equally exquisite showroom located in a transformed chapel in the heart of San Diego’s Cortez Hill district. You’ll be able to browse handcrafted bridal looks under Spanish rival archways, bathed in romantic glowing sunlight. Not a bad setting to try on dresses right? And I haven’t even gotten to the gowns yet – which all come handmade from Australia. GRACE uses luxury fabrics and they tend to avoid corsetry or boning, opting for more comfort and movement. This results in unforgettable silhouettes that allow you to laugh, dance, and move freely on your big day.

White Flower Bridal Boutique

Good For: The Bride Who is Discerning! They have a wide selection of high end designers and styles to shop, ranging from classic to works of art.

A favorite among many of my clients, The White Flower, lives up to their long standing reputation as “San Diego’s Top Rated Bridal Boutique.” Your shopping experience with them will be an intimate experience in a private bridal suite with a personal bridal stylist. They are located in Bankers Hill Neighborhood near the famous Balboa Park. As for the gowns, they have one of the largest selections in the area. You’ll find the 3D embellishments of Marchesa Notte alongside the Lebanese-French influence of designers like Dany Tabet. And once you’ve found your dress, they’ve also got you covered as a one-stop-shop because they also feature carefully crafted hair accessories, veils, and even shoes!
